Job Center Niš is a joint project between City of Niš, City of Aarhus, Denmark and LEDIB Programme with a focus on solving the problem of unemployment in City of Niš by introducing a modern model for interventions in the job market. The project is being implemented through the Twinning Agreement between City of Niš and City of Aarhus and co-financed by the LEDIB Programme.

Global Objective

To reduce unemployment in Niš and increase the scope and quality of the services provided by the local public administration to SME sector and the unemployed population.

Specific Objectives

The Specific objectives of the Job centre are to fulfill the cooperation agreement between Municipality of Aarhus and City of Nis and create a Job centre as mean of developing new methods of reducing unemployment in Nis by performing services which are outside of the scope of work of National Employment Service.

Reduction in the unemployment of the city will be achieved through:

  • Establishing contacts with the local business scene to create new jobs
  • Establishing cooperation with foreign investors to secure the adequate labor for them
  • Cooperation with all the social partners in Nis to develop the first employment plan.
  • Introduction of new methods and techniques of dealing with the problem of unemployment
  • Creation of sustainable mechanisms which will deal with the problem of unemployment in a more productive way
  • Reduction of unemployment in Niš
  • Increasing the scope and quality of the services provided by the local public administration to SME sector and the unemployed population
  • Creating a pilot model mechanism that will be applicable for any municipality/city in Serbia in dealing with unemployment problem.
